Happy New Year!! What an amazing year 2005 was and 2006 is proving to be even better. As most of you know I had a great adventure. I went to South Africa. I have never traveled so far away from home and it was fantastic. I traveled with locals and got to see so much...Safari, animals, bugs, landscape. Wow! What a beautiful country and such an exciting energy. As for this year; I have lots of expectations for an equally exciting and adventurous 2006. On February 11, I was the guest speaker at the Orange County Society for Psychic Research. This group is dedicated to seeking out and promoting wider knowledge of the principles and truths of paranormal phenomena. What a great organization, I will share my experience in an upcoming newsletter. On February 26, I will be speaking with a panel of religious leaders on “Is life still sacred”. This event will be held at the First Congregational Church on 3rd and Cedar here in Long Beach at 2:00 P.M. I hope some of you can attend. It promises to be informative. I wish you all a very blessed New Year. In Love and Light - Kathleen |

The fall of 1999 brought me a referral from the National Spiritualist Organization. An individual was seeking a Medium, one not heavily commercialized or advertised. I contacted the gentleman, and agreed to meet with him the next day. It was to be an interview of sorts, I didn’t mind, it sometimes is the best when people are new to this field. When the gentleman arrived for his appointment, we settled into a private room as I explained to him again the method in which I work as a Medium and the philosophy of Spiritualism. He did not believe in an after life, or in spirit communication. He was looking for someone who was credible, not motivated by money or greed, that could possibly help convince him of life after death. He repeatedly said, if there was a chance that his child was still around in some form, he wanted to attempt to contact her. Unfortunately, in describing the passing of his daughter, he revealed the most compelling evidential proof I could have given him. I explained that I now felt at a disadvantage, but would continue because I could feel the energy of his child in the room. He face registered shock. He expressed his concerned that I would be able to read his mind. He found that to be the most unnerving part of this whole field. I asked him if he felt that mind reading is more powerful a phenomenon than a communication from the spirit and personality of a loved one. He simply stated that he believed in mind reading, not an afterlife. He then proceeded to tell me that he had some questions prepared for which he did not know the answers, therefore I could not read his mind. A test, he said. The spirit of the child did provide the answers to a few of the questions he presented, but since the dad did not know the answers, we ended the session so he could go home and discuss it with his wife. He stated that based on what happened during the reading, he would make a recommendation to his wife as to whether she should come to see me herself. Within a few days, a friend of the family called to make an appointment for the wife. I agreed to see them the next day. At the time of the appointment, I could tell by the energy that my work would be cut out for me. Again the problem of mind reading came up and I explained that any and all information coming to me would be from the spirit of their child as well as my guides and teachers who assist me. The spirit of the child was present in the room almost immediately. A child of average height, gentle in nature but who was still suffering the grief of the separation from the family and the turmoil the family itself was in. I remember that the mother seemed overly concerned about the time and referred to her watch anytime I spent too much time explaining something that was happening. She said at one point “please stop explaining yourself, I am only concerned about what my daughter is saying”. The parents had prepared a list of thirteen questions to ask the child. However, before we got to the questions I wanted to allow the child to explain where in spirit she was and whom she was with. Unfortunately, if there was any evidential information in this communication the mother would not confirm it. Onward to the questions we went, and the spirit of the child went right to work. She did a remarkable job, better than I could have hoped, but it did not seem to touch the mother in any way. One of her questions to her daughter was to see if she knew what new sport her brother had recently begun. The young girl immediately put a clairvoyant tennis racket in my face. With that answer the mother registered shock but went to the next questions quickly. There were seven questions that the child answered right on the target. Three more questions we did not get correct and there were three in which no answers where given at all. As a Medium, you learn that there are not always answers to everything. This spirit who had been so cooperative and correct on so many things could not or would not answer these three. About three quarters of the way through the hour reading, the spirit of the child stopped and spoke these words to me, “My mom does not believe any of this”. I was not surprised because the body language and of demeanor her mother supported her statement. I was so moved by what the spirit said to me that I repeated what she said word for word to her mother. In response, she jumped from the chair and yelled, “Make her give something I can believe then!” The spirit child became very sad or resigned. At this point, I wanted to end the session, however we struggled on to end the hour. Thanking me, the mother told me she felt I was honest and credible but was not convinced of anything and did not know what to believe. This child worked hard, provided as much evidential information as she could and still was not believed, but she knew going into the reading this would be the case. Looking back I now understand why the spirit was not excited or emotional, her energy was not high, more resigned and business like, someone who knew her mother well. I have not heard from the family or the spirit since. |
